Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In Bangka Belitung Today Add 288 People, Total 1,931 Cases
BABEL - The Bangka Belitung Islands Province of COVID-19 Handling Task Force said that the number of active COVID-19 patients had increased again by 288 people. The total number of people exposed and currently undergoing isolation is 1,931 people.
"Today, positive COVID-19 patients reached 1,931 people, an increase of 8.43 percent compared to the previous day," said Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force for the Babel Islands Province, Andi Budi Prayitno, in Pangkalpinang as quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.
Based on an update on Thursday, July 8 last night, the number of patients required to be isolated for treatment was 1,931 people and spread in Pangkalpinang City 459 (increased 83 people, Bangka Regency 362 (increased 38).
Furthermore, the number of COVID-19 patients in Central Bangka 288 (increased 38), West Bangka 195 (16 people), South Bangka 102 (increased 16 people), Belitung 385 (increased 75 people), and the number of active patients in Belitung Timur Regency 140 ( increased by 22 people).
"With the addition of 288 confirmed cases of COVID-19, this further confirms that the spread and transmission of the Coronavirus have not ended, it is still happening in this area", he said.

He said, from July 1 to 8, 2021, positive cases of COVID-19 in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands increased by 1,709 people, recovered 742 people, died 33 people.
"In this month, the increase in recovery is not too significant, even lower than new cases, this shows that there is an urgent need to do not only increase tracing and testing", he said.
He appealed and invited local governments and underlined that awareness and discipline in implementing the 5M health protocol is the simplest, easiest, and cheapest way to avoid being exposed to COVID-19.
"It can't be helped, handling COVID-19 requires cooperation, synergy, and collaboration from all elements and components of society. Without it, efforts to overcome this pandemic, especially in controlling COVID-19 will not be successful and optimal", he said.
