Three People Beat Health Workers, Bandarlampung Mayor Did Not Accept Asking The Police To Investigate
JAKARTA - Mayor of Bandarlampung, Eva Dwiana, regretted the incident of mistreatment of a health worker at the Kedaton Health Center who was beaten by three unknown people.
"I strongly condemn the persecution of Rendi, one of the nurses at the Public Health Center in this city", she said, in Bandarlampung, as reported by Antara, Sunday, July 4.
She emphasized that his party had coordinated with the police so that the case of beating the nurse could be investigated thoroughly because according to the victim's statement, one of the perpetrators of the abuse claimed to be an official's family.
He explained that the nurse was abused and beaten by three unknown people at around 04.00 WIB at her workplace at the Kedaton Health Center.
The Bandarlampung City Government will oversee this case and provide legal assistance to nurses who are being abused.
"They may force them to borrow oxygen cylinders for self-isolation, but this is not the way to do it. If there is someone who is taking care of themselves, they tell the village or sub-district we will certainly serve and treat them", she said.

According to her, the medical team or health workers do not deserve to be treated like that because they have worked 24 hours to serve the community and even health workers should be protected.
"So whoever it is, whether it's an official's family or not, shouldn't take such actions, especially since the city's medical team has maximally provided day and night services for residents", he said.
He revealed that the nurse's condition is currently slightly traumatized and is undergoing treatment at the Abdoel Moeloek Hospital.
"Let's just pray for Rendi (nurse) his condition improves. I hope a similar incident does not happen again in this city", he said.
Head of the Bandarlampung City Health Office, Edwin Rusli, revealed that based on information received, a nurse named Rendi was carrying out picketing at the time of the incident, then three people came to borrow oxygen cylinders.
However, he continued, because there were no patients who were brought by the perpetrator to the Public Health Center, the victim (Rendi) asked the patient's whereabouts but did not get an answer, but instead, the nurse got hit on the head.
"The perpetrator said that an old person was sick and wanted to borrow oxygen cylinders. Then the victim was asked, where is the patient? he answered no, at home. Then the nurse replied that this is not a place for borrowing oxygen cylinders, we and the sick are told to be taken to the Public Health Center but the nurse was even beaten", he said.
According to him, the victim suffered several injuries to the head and is currently undergoing treatment at the Abdoel Moeloek Hospital.
