Cases Soared, In A Day 596 People Positive For COVID-19 In East Kalimantan
JAKARTA - The East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force said that there was a spike in COVID-19 cases. Where on Thursday, July 1, 596 people were positive for COVID-19.
A spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province, Andi Muhammad Ishak, said that on the same day, the number of recovered cases had also increased, reaching 111 cases.
"Nine regencies and cities in the East Kalimantan region are included in the red zone, the only area that is still in the yellow zone is Mahakam Ulu Regency", said Andi Muhammad Ishak in Samarinda, Thursday, July 1.
Andi said additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Berau, 44 cases, West Kutai 15 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 70 cases, East Kutai 60 cases, Mahakam Ulu 1 case, Paser 8 cases, North Penajam Paser 28 cases, Balikpapan 182 cases, Bontang 90 cases and Samarinda 98 cases.
Meanwhile, additional recovered cases occurred in Berau with 19 cases, West Kutai with 12 cases, East Kutai with 3 cases, Mahakam Ulu with 2 cases, Paser with 7 cases, Penajam Paser Utara with 4 cases, Balikpapan with 33 cases, Bontang with 22 cases, and Samarinda with 9 cases.
"The accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 77,831 cases, while the cases that have been declared cured are 71,578 cases", said Andi Muhammad Ishak.

Andi added that COVID-19 patients who died also experienced an additional 11 cases with details in Kutai Kartanegara 1 case, Balikpapan 5 cases, Bontang 1 case, and Samarinda 4 cases.
"The total number of COVID-19 deaths in East Kalimantan is 1,842 cases", added Andi Muhammad Ishak.
Based on data from the East Kalimantan Province COVID-19 Task Force as of July 1, 2021, 4,411 COVID-19 patients are still undergoing treatment.
The patients were spread in Balikpapan as many as 1,706 people, Bontang 766 people, Samarinda 566 people, Kutai Kartanegara 392 people, and Berau 352 people.
Furthermore, East Kutai 290 people, North Panajam Paser 125 people, West Kutai 124 people, Paser 86 people, and Mahakam Ulu 4 people.
