Starting Tonight, Police Close 10 Main Streets Of Bogor City

BOGOR - The Bogor City West Java COVID-19 Handling Task Force through the Bogor City Police has imposed a policy of closing roads and diverting traffic flows at 10 locations on the main roads of Bogor City. The closing starts tonight from 21.00 WIB until 24.00 WIB.

The Head of Bogor City Police, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, said that based on the results of the evaluation of the COVID-19 Task Force, it was decided that the implementation of the odd-even motorized vehicle policy on weekends in Bogor City was replaced with a policy of closing roads and diverting traffic at night.

Kombes Susatyo, who is also the deputy head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, explained that the location of road closures and traffic diversions was implemented along Pajajaran Street starting from the Warung Jambu intersection in North Bogor to the Sukasari T-junction near Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari in East Bogor.

Total road closures and traffic diversions were also implemented on the Bogor Botanical Garden ring road, namely H Juanda Street, Jalak Harupat Street, Pajajaran Street, and Otista Street, which are often called the one-way system (SSA), as well as on Pemuda Street to Fountain roundabout.

According to Kombes Susatyo, during the implementation of the total blocking of motorized vehicles and the diversion of traffic flow, the Bogor City Police have prepared 10 locations for road closures, covering the following areas:

1. Jambu stall intersection on Pajajaran Street

2. McD Lodaya intersection in Raya Pajajaran

3. The intersection of Tugu Kujang on Pajajaran Street

4. Simpang Sukasari near Plaza Ekalokasari

6. The Archipelago Rhythm Intersection on Kapten Muslihat Street

7. In front of the Integrated Post on Juanda Street

5. BTM intersection on Juanda Street

The implementation of the policy for closing roads and diverting traffic flows, he said, the legal basis is the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs on the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) and the Bogor Mayor's Regulation on PPKM.

"This policy is not aimed at smooth traffic flow, but to reduce community mobility and avoid crowds, to prevent the spread of COVID-19", said Susatyo who is also deputy head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

In this policy of closing roads and diverting traffic flow, there are vehicles in emergency conditions that are excluded, namely, ambulances, fire fighting vehicles, official vehicles, and online vehicles.

Susatyo added that in implementing this policy, motor vehicles and traffic diversion have been tested on H Juanda Street in the Bogor Botanical Gardens circle, on Tuesday, June 29 evening.

At that time, the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force sent a joint team from the Police and the Bogor City Transportation Service by installing road markings on blocked roads, and diverting traffic to alternative roads.
