Manggarai District Attorney, NTT Names 2 Suspects In Corruption Cases With IDR 839 Million Funds
KUPANG - Investigators from the Manggarai State Prosecutor's Office, East Nusa Tenggara Province have named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of operational assistance funds (BOS) at SMP Negeri I Reok School which cost the state IDR 839 million.
"It's true that today the Manggarai District Attorney has named two suspects in the case of corruption in the school operational assistance fund (BOS) of SMP Negeri I Reok School in Reok District", said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim in Kupang, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 1st.
The two suspects are suspected of being involved in a corruption case in the management of regular BOS funds for four fiscal years, namely FY 2017, 2018 and 2019, and 2020 at SMP Negeri I Reok School, Reok District, Manggarai Regency.
Two suspects who are considered responsible in the case are the Principal of SMP Negeri I Reok School, HN (59) as the person in charge and user of BOS funds, and MA (43) is the treasurer of BOS funds at SMP Negeri I Reok School.

Abdul said the Manggarai District Attorney's investigation had asked for information from 43 witnesses in the alleged corruption case of boss funds that cost the state more than IDR 839 million.
According to him, in the management of BOS funds during the four fiscal years, the two suspects carried out fictitious activities and made mark-ups, and made accountable for activities without evidence.
"Many of the activities carried out at the Reok State Junior High School are fictitious, causing a substantial loss to state finances", said Abdul Hakim.
