The Emergency Community Activity Restrictions Has Been Implemented, Foreigners In Bali Who Violate Health Protocols Will Be Deported Without Warning

DENPASAR - Head of Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Jamaruli Manihuruk, confirmed that his party would immediately deport without warning Foreign Citizens (WNA) who violate health protocols during the emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) period.

"We want to convey to foreign nationals who are in Bali, during this Emergency PPKM period, we will ensure and take firm action if foreigners do not follow health protocols", Jamaruli said at a press conference, Thursday, July 1.

According to him, the decisive action is in accordance with the rules of immigration administration in the form of deportation of foreign citizens and in accordance with Article 75 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

"There, it reads that every foreigner who is dangerous or reasonably suspected of being dangerous or does not comply with the applicable laws will be subject to immigration administrative action, one of which is deportation", he added.

"I reiterate this to foreign citizens who are in Bali. We will deport them if the foreigner violates the applicable laws and regulations in accordance with the article", said Jamaruli.

The strict regulation, said Jamaruli, is also a directive from the Governor of Bali and the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves).

"This is also a directive from the Manko Marves and the Bali Governor. Previously, we took quite soft actions, but this time we emphasize that we are not thinking of being soft again because this is an emergency", he said.

"According to the immigration law, there is no warning for that. Immediate deportation and this needs to be known by all foreigners in Bali. This is an emergency, we will immediately apply it according to the law", said Jamaruli.
