COVID-19 Update As Of July 1: 24.836 New Cases And 504 Deaths On Emergency Community Activity Restrictions Announcement Day
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 155.191 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 24.836 new positive cases of COVID-19.
Today's new cases are the highest number during the pandemic. On the same day, the government officially announced that it would implement emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2.203.108 and active cases are 253.826", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, July 1.
Today's recovered cases increased by 9.874 cases, bringing the total to 1.890.287 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 504 people and the total was 58.995 people. The death toll today also reached a new record.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 7.541 cases and a total of 551.009 cases. Followed by West Java which has 6.179 new cases with a total of 387.634 cases. Central Java has 2.624 new cases and a total of 256.563 cases. Then, East Java had 1.397 new cases and a total of 174.430 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 3.527 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1.675 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 1.284 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 695 recovered cases.
No province has reported zero cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 20.058.268.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 33.3 percent", he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 131.329 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Currently, there are 30.184.392 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 13.624.157 of the second dose of vaccination.
