Take A Peek At OPPO's Patented Dual-sided Flexible Screen Smartphone
JAKARTA - OPPO seems to be preparing a new innovation. It seems that this company has filed its latest patent for a smartphone with a flexible circular double-sided screen concept.
Previously, OPPO had received a patent for a smartphone concept with a side-rolled screen on its product, namely OPPO X 2021.
Cited from Gizmochina, Thursday, July 1, it is reported that OPPO had filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) for its newest concept. The caption on the document states "Method for assembling and disassembling electronic equipment".
Where the patent document describes the method of assembling and disassembling a circular double-sided flexible screen. It is known, the screen concept was developed by Jermaine Smit, and is the result of a collaboration with LetsGoDigital.
This smartphone with the concept of a circular double-sided flexible screen appears to have super thin bezels and the left side has a screen that is circular to the back. Even though the screen is extended and coiled, but it is not curved. This is similar to the Samsung Z smartphone that hit the market a few years ago.

The screen looks sharp and has an uncommon design. OPPO said that the smartphone uses a super-thin steel plate between the screen and the chassis that allows the screen to be placed, with a relatively thin thickness on both sides in a circle.
For the back of the smartphone with a circular double-sided flexible screen concept, the render also shows the rear camera setup. The device will have four sensors and a flash located under the lens.
The rear camera itself will function as well as the front camera. This is possible because the screen that is circular to the back can be adjusted for selfies. With the screen on one side of the bezel, this makes the volume settings positioned on the far right edge seen from the front.
Although this smartphone with the latest concept from OPPO is only in the patent stage, so we probably have to wait and see if this design will become a smartphone that is marketed globally.
