Sad News, 12 Riau Islands Residents Died Due To COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Task Force recorded the death toll from COVID-19 in the region increased by 12 people.

A spokesman for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, said the number of COVID-19 patients who died in Batam was six, Tanjungpinang was four, and Bintan was two.

"A total of 23 people died in the past two days. A day ago 11 people, today 12 people", he said in Tanjungpinang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 30.

The total number of patients in the Riau Islands who died from COVID-19 reached 559 people. Namely, 300 people were spread in Batam, 114 people in Tanjungpinang, 54 people in Bintan, 49 people in Karimun, 22 people in Anambas, 11 people in Lingga, and nine people in Natuna.

"COVID-19 patients who died are still dominated by Batam residents", he said, who was also the former Head of the Riau Islands Health Office.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered patients increased by 273 to 21,468. Patients who recovered from COVID-19 spread to 11,449 people in Batam, 3,722 people in Tanjungpinang, 2,234 in Bintan, 2,095 in Karimun, 888 in Anambas, 435 in Lingga, and 645 in Natuna.

The number of residents in Riau Islands who were infected with COVID-19 increased by 421 people to 25,924 people, spread across Batam 13,673 people, Tanjungpinang 4,763 people, Bintan 2,936 people, Karimun 2,298 people, Anambas 928 people, Lingga 534 people, and Natuna 792 people.

The number of active cases in Riau Islands reached 3,897 people, spread in Batam 1,924 people, Tanjungpinang 927 people, Bintan 648 people, Karimun 154 people, Anambas 18 people, Lingga 88 people, and Natuna 138 people.
