Former Keerom Regent Becomes Suspect Of Embezzlement Of Local Government Assets, Including Air Conditioners And Sofas
JAKARTA - The former Keerom Regent MM (51 years old) has been named a suspect in the case of embezzling the assets of the Keerom Regional Government which was previously reported to the local police.
As reported by Antara, Tuesday, June 29, Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri admitted that the former Keerom Regent MM has now been detained at the Keerom Police, after being named a suspect in the crime of embezzlement in office in accordance with Article 374 subsidiary to Article 372 of the Criminal Code.
The case that dragged the former MM regent began with the police report Number: LP/77/III/2021/SPKT-Keerom, dated March 30, 2021, resulting in the issuance of an investigation order number: SP. SIDIK/33.a/IV/2021/Reskrim, dated April 26.

After the investigation was carried out, the investigator determined the suspect who had previously held a case, and currently, investigators have secured various evidence that the suspect allegedly embezzled such as one box truck, six air conditioner units, five sets of sofas, and various pieces of evidence, Fakhiri explained.
He added that from the report received, it was revealed that on February 22, the Head of Assets for the Regional Government of Keerom, Rully Iriano Ririmase, received a report from the Head of the Household Sub Division, Arie Parmindani Renmaur, who reported that the inventory items in the regent's house were missing or empty.
From the report, on March 30, the Secretary of the Keerom Regency, Daniel Panca Pasanda, reported it to the Keerom Police, said Fakhiri while admitting that 11 witnesses had been questioned.
MM previously served as Keerom Regent for the 2018-2020 period, said the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri added.
