Affected By COVID-19 For The Second Time, East Java Governor Khofifah Continues To Work Virtually

SURABAYA - East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, emphasized that he would continue to operate virtually despite being positive for COVID-19. This is the second time that Khofifah has been exposed to the Coronavirus.

"God willing, I will still be able to do my virtual work from home", wrote Khofifah through her personal Instagram account @khofifah.ip, Friday, June 25, 2021.

Khofifah confirmed that she is currently in good health without showing any symptoms. Even the antibody level was stated to be quite high by the laboratory team of Dr. Soetomo Hospital.

"I contracted COVID-19 even though the doctor said my antibody level was 275 U/ml, which is high enough for severe COVID-19 symptoms", she said.

Even without showing any symptoms, Khofifah ensures that she will continue to follow the applicable health procedures. Khofifah is self-isolating until she is tested negative for COVID-19.

In her upload, Khofifah also advised all East Java people to always be vigilant and disciplined in implementing health protocols considering the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended.

"This virus can attack anyone and at any time. Don't be careless and don't take it lightly. Please pray so that I can return to health and activities as usual. Thank you", she continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of East Java Human Resources Development Agency, Aries Agung Paewai, said Khofifah was positive for COVID-19 due to the governor's busy schedule for the past three weeks.

"As we all know, his schedule is very busy. Almost every day he commutes to Madura, monitors the establishment of an emergency hospital at Surabaya Madura Regional Development Agency, meets several community leaders and Madurese scholars, accompanies visits by ministers, TNI commanders, and the National Police chief, and intensively monitors the implementation of mass vaccinations and so on. Let's pray for her to be healthy and return to her activities", he said.
