Bobby Nasution Optimistic Learning To Do Face-to-face

JAKARTA - Medan Mayor, Bobby Nasution, said he was optimistic that learning could be conducted face-to-face in July 2021, while still implementing strict COVID-19 health protocols.

"Of course he is optimistic, but we still have to see later", he said while monitoring the face-to-face learning trial at SMPN 1 Medan (Junior high school), as reported by Antara, Monday, June 21.

He said that learning would be better done face-to-face because it took into account the psychology of students and students.

Because according to him, education is not just a learning material, but also how to develop ways of communicating and socializing students.

"Because we are different at home, socializing with family and peers is definitely very different. This is what today may be a bit of a loss for the younger siblings because they follow online learning," said President Joko Widodo's son-in-law.

For this reason, he asked each school to implement health protocol rules. This is to ensure that face-to-face learning can run safely.

Some rules for implementing face-to-face learning, namely limiting the number of students in the room, are carried out only twice a week and only last for two hours.

"Keep following the health protocols by wearing a mask and keeping your distance", he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMPN 1, Lisnawati, ensured that face-to-face learning at the school would continue to apply strict health protocols.

He also said that 99 percent of the teaching staff at his school had been vaccinated against COVID-19 to support face-to-face learning.

"The mayor said earlier that we must add a sink to wash our hands in front of each class. We will add this later", he said.
