Meeting Activities Are Being Restricted To 25 Percent, Commission II Of The House Of Representatives Follows Deliberative Body Meeting's Decision
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Luqman Hakim, said that his party followed the decision of the Deliberative Body Meeting (Bamus) to limit the meeting attendance rate to only 20-25 percent. These restrictions are in effect until the end of June 2021.
"All activities of the DPR must be adjusted to this decision, including those of us on Commission II of the DPR RI", said Luqman, Saturday, June 19.
To note, apart from limiting the attendance of DPR members, experts, and secretariat staff at DPR meetings, Bamus also limits official travel at home and abroad.
According to Luqman, this is a form of the DPR's mutual cooperation in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the DPR sent a strong signal to the government and the public about the importance of implementing health protocols for the successful handling of COVID-19.
“Nationally, the fact is that there has been a spike in the spread of COVID-19. DPR members and other supporting staff cannot be separated from the spread of the COVID-19 virus", he said.
In addition, he said, the policy of tightening the implementation of health protocols would be better if it was accompanied by serious efforts by the government in increasing the reach of vaccinations to the public.

Previously, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the Deliberative Body Meeting (Bamus) on Thursday, June 17, afternoon agreed to limit the meeting attendance rate in each Council Apparatus (AKD) to only 20-25 percent which will be enforced until the end of June 2021.
This policy was taken due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 in the Parliament Complex, Jakarta.
"The level of attendance in the DPR will be reduced by 20 percent to a maximum of 25 percent, be it DPR members, experts (TA), or other support staff", said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, June 17.
