The 'Pokemon UNITE' MOBA Game Is Ready To Launch On Android, iOS And Switch

JAKARTA - Have you ever imagined a game that combines League of Legends or Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but the characters are Pokemon? If so, then you are ready to play in the newest game Pokemon UNITE.

According to the plan, the game, which has been announced since June last year, will be released on Nintendo Switch next month. Based on the leak, the developer will also release Android and iOS versions in September.

Even though it carries MOBA gameplay, the game mechanics are completely different. New and no less exciting than the previous type!

Indeed, there are some elements from previous MOBA games that are preserved. For example, a game filled with competition between two teams of five players. Complete with economic mechanisms, Pokemon level growth (which is described in the form of evolution), and excellent skill graphics.

However, it's not Pokemon if it doesn't offer something new. Instead of just eliminating the opponent and destroying the enemy base, Pokemon offers a mechanism where victory can be obtained by throwing the ball into the opponent's base.

A mix between ball game mechanics, MOBA, and cute and adorable Pokemon characters.

A Combination Of Several Game Elements

The Pokemon UNITE game is the first team strategy game the Pokemon Company has to offer. And in this mobile game, the company is bold enough to incorporate elements from an e-Sports title.

As we can see from the trailer above, the game pits two teams on a map called Pula Aeos. Players can choose their favorite Pokemon. Each of course has been equipped with unique abilities that can be used against enemies.

And from the short video above, the ultimate goal of Pokemon UNITE is to defeat your opponent by placing the ball in a circle located in the enemy's base. Every ball that goes into the goal (in the form of a circle) will be counted as a score. And the team with the most scores when time runs out will be the winner of the game.

The Verge revealed that the Pokemon UNITE game will support cross-platform play. Especially between smartphones and Switch.

So, Nintendo Switch users can have more fun by facing more opponents using Android or iPhone. Not only that, but this latest MOBA game also supports account access via various platforms.

This means that players who initially accessed the game via Nintendo Switch can also access the same account via other devices. Finally, The Verge report also mentions that this game will be free to play.
