Lhokseumawe Police Arrest 7 Extortionists Of Unloading Trucks

BANDA ACEH - Lhokseumawe Police, Aceh, arrested seven suspected illegal levies (extortion) for loading and unloading trucks in the Inpres Market area, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City.

The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Winardy, said that the action against illegal extortion was a form of commitment to eradicating all forms of thuggery within the jurisdiction of the Aceh Police.

"There are seven suspects detained by the Lhokseumawe Police at the Inpres Market. They are suspected of practicing thuggery in the form of extortion for loading and unloading trucks," said Grand Commissioner Winardy, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

Grand Commissioner Winardy said the seven alleged extortionists had the initials FD (41), SF (25), MH (35), RB (41), RA (39), MHS (57), and SR (56). Along with them, a number of pieces of evidence were also seized.

The evidence includes cash, receipts from various associations or organizations, stamps, stationery, cell phones, expedition books, and other administration related to alleged extortion practices.

"Currently, the alleged perpetrators and the evidence are secured at the Lhokseumawe Police Headquarters. They are subjected to Article 368 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of nine years in prison," said Grand Commissioner Winardy.
