Prepare For Suramadu Blocking, Bangkalan Regent: No Discrimination For Madurese

SURABAYA - Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, and Bangkalan Regent, R Abdul Latif Amin Imron, monitored the partition in Suramadu on the Surabaya side. The two of them also led the preparations for the partition at Suramadu on the Bangkalan side.

Bangkalan Regent, R Abdul Latif Amin Imron ,expressed his gratitude to the Mayor of Surabaya regarding the residents' antigen swabs. This test is carried out for residents who want to go to Bangkalan or from Madura to Surabaya.

"I also hope that this cooperation will continue to be well established in the future, so that when there are issues that there is discrimination against Madurese, of course it does not exist. Once again, there is no discrimination against Madurese, because the same treatment is also carried out for residents who will visit Madura, the same swab test will be carried out in Surabaya", said Latif.

Moreover, according to Latif, the partition at Suramadu on the Bangkalan side could be realized because it was assisted by the Surabaya City Government. Especially the health workers who are also supported by the Surabaya City Government.

"So, all residents going to Surabaya will be swab tested in Suramadu on the Bangkalan side, and residents going to Madura, will be swab tested in Surabaya, so that people who come to Surabaya are in good health and residents who go to Madura are also healthy. here there is no such thing as discrimination, because everyone is the same", he said.

According to Latif, the request for assistance to the Surabaya City Government was based on directions from the Governor of East Java, the East Java Police Chief, and the Military Commander V Brawijaya. He hoped that with these various aids, the COVID-19 in Bangkalan could soon be reduced.

"We thank you very much for your help and attention to Bangkalan Regency, starting from the central government, East Java Provincial Government and also Surabaya City Government and all elements of society", he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, said that Surabaya and Bangkalan cannot be separated, because the power they have to deal with COVID-19 is togetherness.

"That's why, as brothers, we must complement and help each other, so that later we will be seconded to Bangkalan", said Eri.

Moreover, there are not as many health workers in Bangkalan as in Surabaya, and health workers in Bangkalan also concentrate in four sub-districts in Bangkalan. So the Surabaya City Government helped send health workers to Bangkalan.

"So, there is no longer any difference between Surabaya and Bangkalan. God willing, we will support the health workers", he said.

"What is certain is that residents who will enter Madura, I have to make sure they are healthy by doing a test in Suramadu on the Surabaya side, so that COVID-19 in Madura is green quickly and in Surabaya is also green. So, this is a big family that cannot be separated from one another others", he concluded.
