Experiencing Navigation Disturbance, National Disaster Management Agency Helicopter Performs Emergency Landing On Football Field
JAKARTA - A helicopter belonging to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) made an emergency landing at the Panunggalan Village Football Field, Pulokulon District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data and Communication Center Raditya Jati said this incident occurred today at 11.45 a.m. local time. The cause is a navigation system disorder.
"The emergency landing was carried out after the helicopter encountered problems with the navigation system or the global positioning system (GPS)", Raditya said in his statement, Wednesday, June 16.
However, Raditya emphasized that the condition of the black Robinson helicopter engine was certainly not experiencing problems or damage.

The helicopter with registration number PK-RTJ was previously reported to be flying from Ahmad Yani Air Base in Semarang to Surabaya. The helicopter was piloted by Ican and assistant mechanics Imam and Puryono.
"The helicopter is currently being repaired for an undetermined time", said Raditya.
During the helicopter repair process by technicians, the Panunggalan Police had been on guard and helped to sterilize the helicopter landing area from the crowd of residents during the repair.
Until this information was revealed, Raditya said there were no reports of casualties from the incident.
