Toyota Launches Land Cruiser Hybrid to bZ4X Touring BEV at GIIAS 2026, Here's the Price
JAKARTA - PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) utilizes the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 to expand the range of electrified vehicles (xEV) in Indonesia. Held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, Wednesday, July 29, Toyota presents a number of new models, ranging from the latest Land Cruiser family to bZ4X Touring Battery EV as part of strengthening the Multi-pathway strategy as well as the development of the mobility ecosystem in the country.
President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor Takuya Yokohama, said Toyota will continue to present innovations that are relevant to the needs of the Indonesian people. "For 55 years, Toyota has grown together with the Indonesian people by presenting relevant mobility solutions," said Takuya Yokohama at the launch.
Toyota also confirmed its commitment to expanding the use of electrified vehicles through Hybrid EV technology. The self-charging system that does not require users to change driving habits is considered to be one of the factors that make this technology easy for the public to accept.
Currently, Toyota hybrid vehicles have been used in all 38 provinces in Indonesia and are claimed to be able to meet daily mobility needs to long-distance travel.
One of the main highlights at GIIAS 2026 is the launch of the New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV.
This model is a new chapter for the legendary SUV after more than six decades of presence in Indonesia. Toyota equips it with a 3,500 cc V35A-FTS V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine combined with an electric motor.
The gasoline engine produces 305 kW of power and 650 Nm of torque, while the electric motor contributes 36 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. The combination of the two produces a system output of 341 kW and 790 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser to date.
For the first time, the Land Cruiser uses a Parallel Hybrid System that places an electric motor between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The system allows the gasoline engine and electric motor to work together or separately through the Open Clutch, resulting in responsive and efficient acceleration.
The car can also run on electric power at speeds below 30 km/h when it starts moving. The ability to drive over various terrains remains the advantage of the Land Cruiser thanks to the Auto Multi Terrain Select which is able to choose the driving mode according to the condition of the road surface.
The LC300 GR Sport Hybrid variant comes with a black grille with the Toyota logo, a typical GR Sport bumper, matte black rims, and a GR emblem. Meanwhile, the VX-R type has been refreshed on the front and rear bumpers. Toyota also introduced the Land Cruiser FJ which is intended to reach more consumers.
Carrying the theme "Freedom and Joy", this SUV adopts a design inspired by the first generation Land Cruiser with a five-passenger cabin configuration. Behind the engine hood is a 2.700 cc four-cylinder 2TR-FE gasoline engine that produces 122 kW of power and 245 Nm of torque, combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 4WD part-time drive system with 2H, 4H, 4L, and Rear Differential Lock modes is prepared to face various terrain conditions. In addition, Toyota also launched the New bZ4X Touring Battery EV which combines SUV characteristics with a touring design in the estate style.
This model comes with black overfender, a more upright D pillar, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a roof rail with a capacity of up to about 80 kg. Its dimensions are longer than the standard bZ4X, so it offers more spacious luggage space.
The AWD variant is equipped with two electric motors on each wheel axle. Each eAxle produces 167 kW of power and 268.6 Nm of torque, so that the total system power reaches 280 kW. The energy source comes from a 74.69 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged using DC fast charging up to 150 kW in about 28 minutes.
In full battery condition, this car is claimed to be able to travel 462 to 487 kilometers, depending on road conditions and driving style. To support its ability on various road surfaces, the bZ4X Touring is equipped with Offroad Capability Drive Mode with SNOW/DIRT and DEEP SNOW/MUD options, as well as Grip Control which regulates acceleration and braking on each wheel so that the vehicle remains stable when crossing challenging terrain.
Toyota also presents the first public display of the New Hilux lineup, which was previously introduced in June. Visitors to GIIAS 2026 can see the New Hilux 2.8 4x4 in single cabin and double cabin types E, G, and V, including the New Hilux Double Cabin AWD Battery EV.
"For Toyota, mobility is not only about how far a journey is, but also about bringing comfort, confidence, peace of mind, and excitement on every journey. For this reason, we will continue to understand customer needs and collaborate with various parties, from talents, local partners, to customers. Because the future of mobility is not something we can build ourselves, but something we must realize together," concluded Takuya Yokohama.
Toyota also announced the official prices of two electrification models launched at GIIAS 2026 with the Jakarta on the road (OTR) status, namely the New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV priced at Rp2.716 billion, the New Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport Hybrid EV for Rp2.816 billion, and the New bZ4X Touring Battery EV marketed at a price of Rp889 million.
