Briptu MZ Fired after Involved in Gold Shop Robbery in South Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Police has imposed a sanction of dismissal or dismissal without honor (PTDH) against Briptu MZ, who was involved in the robbery of a gold shop in South Aceh Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Pol Joko Krisdiyanto, said the dismissal of the police member was after the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) stated that Briptu MZ had committed a reprehensible act.

The dismissal of Briptu MZ was decided in an ethics hearing held in the Bidpropam Courtroom of the Aceh Police, Tuesday (28/7). Previously, the code of ethics commission held a series of trials against the perpetrators.

Joko Krisdiyanto said the trial included the agenda of reading the indictment, examination of witnesses, examination of suspected violators, and examination of evidence.

The hearing of the Police Code of Ethics Commission was chaired by the Head of the Profession and Security Division of the Aceh Police, Kombes Pol Bulang Bayu Samudra. Acting as the prosecutor was AKP Andri and Ipda Khairurrazi. Meanwhile, the alleged accomplice of the violator was Bripka Fadli Yansyah from the Aceh Police Law Division.

The middle-ranking officer of the Aceh Police said that Briptu MZ was tried for allegedly committing the crime of theft with violence or robbery of the Amin Setia Gold Shop in Tapaktuan District, South Aceh Regency, on July 18, 2026.

The criminal act was carried out using organic firearms from the National Police. Based on the results of the investigation, witness examination, CCTV footage, evidence, and the suspect's confession, investigators named Briptu MZ. as a suspect.

"Currently, the investigation process for the indictment is handled by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police," said Joko Krisdiyanto, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 29.

In the ethics hearing, Briptu MZ's actions violated Article 13 Paragraph (1) of the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2003 concerning the dismissal of members of the National Police jo Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter b and letter l and Article 8 letter c number 1 of the National Police Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2022 concerning the code of ethics of the profession and the National Police Ethics Commission.

On this basis, he said, the Police Code of Ethics Commission imposed an ethical sanction in the form of a statement that the violator had committed a reprehensible act and an administrative sanction in the form of dismissal without honor.

"Regarding the verdict, Briptu MZ. stated that he accepted it and did not appeal," he said.

Joko said that in considering the verdict, the commission assessed that the violators' actions were intentional, conscious, and planned.

In addition, this action has tarnished the good name, honor, and dignity of the Polri institution, lowered public confidence in the professionalism and integrity of the Polri, and caused material losses to the victims and unrest in the community.

"The imposition of disciplinary sanctions is a form of commitment by the Aceh Police in enforcing discipline and the code of ethics of the police profession. Any member who commits a serious violation will be processed firmly in accordance with the applicable provisions without discrimination," he said.

Joko Krisdiyanto emphasized that the enforcement of the code of ethics and the criminal process ran in parallel. The Aceh Police ensured that all processes were carried out professionally, transparently, and accountable, as well as upholding the principles of justice and the rights of the parties.

"Aceh Police does not tolerate any form of violation of the law or abuse of authority committed by members. Law enforcement against members who commit violations is part of our commitment to maintaining public confidence in the Polri institution," he said.

Previously, a joint team from the South Aceh Police and personnel from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Aceh Police arrested MZ for allegedly robbing an gold shop in Tapaktuan, the capital of South Aceh Regency.

The member of the National Police was arrested less than 24 hours after carrying out the action on Saturday (18/7).
