Overturned Car, 5 UHO Students Died
KENDARI - Five students from Halu Oleo University (UHO) Kendari were killed and four other students were injured after the minibus the group was traveling in suffered a single accident in Bombana Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.
Head of Traffic Police Bombana AKP Muhammad Arifin Fajar said the unfortunate incident occurred in Lemeroro Village, Rumbia District, Bombana, at around 17.30 WITA.
"The student's vehicle from Kendari to Kasipute arrived at Lameroro Village, and a tire burst, causing the car to roll over and hit a tree," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 7.
All victims were evacuated to the Kasipute Hospital in the area. He added that the nine students were on their way after conducting research at the sugarcane company PT Jhonlin in the Bombana area.
"According to information, after conducting research in Jhonlin, he (the nine victims) wanted to find food in the Kasipute area, on the way he had a single accident," he said.
