JAKARTA - Residents of flats in Surabaya City, East Java, who refuse to be vaccinated are asked to find housing outside the flats.
Head of the Surabaya City Building and Land Management Agency (DPBT), Maria Theresia Ekawati Rahayu, said that her party had made an announcement of the COVID-19 vaccination for residents of 18 flats in Surabaya.
"The announcement is in the form of a recommendation to the residents of the flat to follow the vaccine as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the apartment environment", she said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 5.
According to her, vaccinations for the residents of the flats will be carried out by the Surabaya Health Service on Sunday, June 6, 2021, starting at 08.00 WIB in the flat yard.
The announcement letter issued by DPBT to residents of the flat also includes several requirements for the target recipients of the vaccine. First, the recipients of the vaccine are flat residents aged 18 years and over.

Second, the resident has never been vaccinated against COVID-19 and third, the resident is required to submit a photocopy of the ID card to the flat staff no later than Friday, June 4, 2021.
"But everyone has to register. Later, the Health Service will carry out the assessment. If indeed the registered and an assessment has been carried out but does not meet the requirements to be vaccinated, then there is no problem", she said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Surabaya City Health Office, Febria Rachmanita, said that vaccination for residents of this flat is included in the third stage. The target is 10,190 residents in 18 flats managed by the Surabaya City Government.
"We do mass vaccines for all residents of the flats", said Febria.
He said the third stage of vaccination was also targeted at people with disabilities and People With Mental Disorders (ODGJ). For the target, there are 5,394 people with disabilities and 3,671 ODGJ in the city of Surabaya.
"Please cooperate with all participants of the third phase of the vaccine. There is no need to worry and worry, we will do all of this so that our city is free from the COVID-19 pandemic and healthy citizens", she said.
