BI Records QRIS Transactions Growing 131.47 Percent in January 2026

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that the volume of digital payment transactions through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in January 2026 continued to grow rapidly by 131.47 percent (yoy) and supported by an increase in the number of users and merchants.

Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo said that the growth of digital economic and financial transactions in January 2026 remained high supported by a safe, smooth, and reliable payment system.

"The volume of digital payment transactions reached 4.79 billion transactions or grew 39.65 percent (yoy) in January 2026 supported by the expansion of digital payment acceptance," Perry said in a press conference, Thursday, February 19.

Furthermore, the transaction volume through mobile and internet applications grew by 10.00 percent (yoy) and 23.25 percent (yoy), respectively.

Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure, the volume of retail transactions processed through BI-FAST reached 455 million transactions or grew 34.41 percent (yoy) with a transaction value of Rp. 1,176 trillion in January 2026.

Perry said the volume of large value transactions processed through BI-RTGS was recorded at 0.86 million transactions or grew 7.60 percent (yoy), with a value of Rp. 19,555 trillion in January 2026.

Meanwhile, in terms of managing Rupiah money, the Distributed Kartal Money (UYD) grew 12.41 percent (yoy) to Rp1,267 trillion in January 2026.
