After Arisan, Seven People Died In Bromo Tourist Trail Due To Accident

JAKARTA - A car accident that occurred on the Bromo tourist trail in Wringinanom village, Poncokusumo sub-district, Malang regency, East Java, Wednesday, left seven people dead.

"In total there were 12 victims, seven died, four were seriously injured, and one person suffered minor injuries", said Head of Malang Police Traffic Unit, AKP Agung Fitransyah, reported by Antara in Malang, Wednesday, May 26.

"There was also one girl who died, aged between five and seven years. We are also still collecting victims", Agung said.

He said that among the seven victims who died four people died at the scene and three who died on the way to the hospital.

The victims of the accident that occurred in Wringinanom Village, Poncokusumo Subdistrict, came from Ledoksari Village, Tumpang Subdistrict, Malang Regency.

 

The victims of the accident were mostly women who were on their way home after attending an Arisan (the activity of collecting money or goods of the same value by several people and then drawn) event in the Poncokusumo area.

Agung explained, the accident occurred at about 13.30 WIB in a group heading to Tumpang subdistrict, Malang Regency, from Ranu Pani direction, Lumajang Regency.

While passing through the Wringinanom area, the pickup they were traveling in was uncontrollable and hit a tree on the side of the road.

Agung said police were still investigating the cause of the crash that claimed lives.

"We're still conducting an investigation, we're still in progress", he said.
