Coordinating Minister AHY Calls 12 Districts In Aceh Still Experiencing Power Outages

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that as many as 12 sub-districts in Aceh were still experiencing blackouts.

AHY also received a report from the Regent of Aceh Tamiang, Armia Fahmi if the total power outage was still ongoing in all areas hit by flash floods at the end of November 2025.

"That 12 sub-districts are still experiencing a total blackout," AHY said in a press statement, Thursday, December 11.

AHY also confirmed that he would forward the report to those who have a responsibility for the recovery of electricity. Even so, the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party DPP did not disclose in detail which 12 sub-districts were still affected by the total power outage.

"I will convey this to the responsible parties," said AHY.

Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, reported to President Prabowo that 93 percent of customers in Aceh Province would return to electricity on Sunday, December 7, evening.

However, Bahlil later apologized to the people of Aceh for not all access to electricity recovering. It is known that after being hit by floods and landslides, a number of Acehnese areas experienced blackouts.

Bahlil said that based on preliminary calculations, the recovery of access to electricity could reach 93 percent. However, due to the many unexpected obstacles in the field, the recovery process could not run as quickly as initial estimates.

"Indeed, we can quickly resolve the estimation at the beginning, which was reported by the PLN team to us. However, conditions that were never suspected and then in the field happened, there were things that we had to do," said Bahlil at the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 9.
