There Is No Nafkah From My Ex-husband, Aura Kasih: All My Children's Needs Are Responsibility

JAKARTA Being a single parent for the last five years is not an easy thing, but Aura Kasih lives it with extraordinary toughness. In the latest interview at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Aura opened up about her ex-husband's livelihood.

When asked about Eryck Amaral's financial participation for their baby, Arabella, Aura just smiled bitterly. He admitted that so far he had been carrying all the needs of his son's life alone without the help of his ex.

"Nafkah? Ya kebetulan karena mungkin saya ada rezeki lebih, ya semuanya (saya tanggung)," ungkap Aura Kasih, Selasa, 9 Desember.

She emphasized that she never asked, and her ex-husband never gave.

Aura chose not to worry about this.

For him, his current financial ability is God's way of making him strong and not dependent on others, including on his biological father.

"Yes, I didn't ask and he didn't give it, and I didn't question it either. Yes, if I think I can provide more from Allah, God will make me independent," he said wisely.

Even though she realizes that her real income is a father's obligation, Aura is realistic. She understands that demanding something from people who may not have availability or will will only waste energy.

"Actually, we have an obligation, we have to. His name is also a father. But it's back again, his willingness, his will, or his availability is not like that," added Aura.

He admitted that the communication between Aura and Eryck had been completely cut off. "I don't talk at all," he said.
