Ministry Of Hajj: Quota Of Hajj Officers From The TNI-Polri Will Be Added

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that the number of Hajj officers from the TNI and Polri elements will be added.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak conveyed that the addition was a direct direction from President Prabowo Subianto.

"Yes, indeed from the TNI-Polri every year there is. This means that it is called Linjam (construction of the congregation), security officers. It is from the TNI-Polri as well as the President's order, we will add it," said Dahnil at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, December 4.

Dahnil said the addition of Hajj officers from the TNI-Polri elements was carried out to strengthen the protection element of the congregation.

He explained that the existence of security officers from the two institutions was considered to support the improvement of the quality of the congregation's protection services in the field.

"So that then they can serve better, because more excellent are usually officers from the TNI and Polri. And we will decide to add officers from the TNI and Polri," said Dahnil.

Regarding the percentage of additional Hajj officer personnel from the two elements, Dahnil said it had not been determined because it was still waiting for further discussion.

"We will see the percentage later. Because specifically we have not discussed it. What is clear is that it has increased," he said.

On that occasion, Dahnil also mentioned the recruitment process for Hajj officers in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. He said the recruitment process for Hajj officers in the three provinces affected by the disaster would be postponed indefinitely.

According to him, this process can only be carried out after conditions are stable and waiting for readiness from their respective regions.

"We have postponed the selection process until a time that we have not determined. Until we are really ready, then these three regions, these three provinces are starting to stabilize," said Dahnil.

Dahnil also stated that his party would relax the process of paying Hajj fees to prospective pilgrims in 2026 who were affected by the disaster in Sumatra.

He said prospective pilgrims from Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra would get an extension of time to pay off costs.

"There may also be relaxation later in the payment process, then the process of determining officers, and so on. We will (give) relaxation in these three areas," he said.
