Fishing Teenagers In West Lombok's Cow Bay Found Dead Floating

The joint SAR team evacuated the body of a teenager who was a missing angler in the waters of Teluk Sepi, Buwun Mas Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency.

"The victim Saharudin (19) was found dead in the early hours of Thursday (December 4)," said Mataram SAR Office Rescue Team Field Coordinator Lukman Hidayat in Mataram, Thursday, as quoted by Antara.

He said the victim, who was a resident of Lemer Hamlet, Buwun Mas Village, was found floating around the drowning site.

"The victim was found still around the location of the sinking at 00.05 WITA," he said.

Furthermore, he said, the victim's body was evacuated and immediately taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family.

This incident began on Wednesday, December 3, when the victim and a friend went fishing in Sepi Bay, suddenly the victim drowned and disappeared at the location where the victim was found.

Local residents who conducted the initial search did not find any signs of the victim's whereabouts. The incident was then reported to the Mataram SAR Office and members of the Sekotong Police, to ask for SAR assistance.

Following up on the report, the Mataram SAR Office immediately dispatched the Rescue Team using personnel trucks and carried various equipment, including rubber boats, diving equipment, thermal drones, aqua eyes, communication equipment, and medical equipment.

The Mataram SAR Office works synergically with various elements, including from the TNI, Polri, residents/nelayan residents and other related parties.

"After conducting a search for several hours and entering the second day, the victim was finally found dead," he said.
