KPK Investigate Ridwan Kamil's Income In The Aftermath Of The Confiscation Of Royal Enfield To Mercedes-Benz 280 SL
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating Ridwan Kamil's official income as Governor of West Java when examining him as a witness to alleged corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) today.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the investigation was carried out because investigators sniffed out assets that were not submitted in the state administration wealth report (LHKPN). This finding was obtained after the confiscation of the Royal Enfield motorbike to the Mercedes Benz 280 SL.
"Then also investigators asked for information related to official income as Governor of West Java at that time as well as whether there were other incomes outside of official income as Governor of West Java," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, December 2.
"These are all investigated, traced as well as confirmed. Why confirmed? Because in this case investigators also conducted many examinations of other witnesses, including from search activities, which then investigators not only secured and confiscated assets suspected of being related to this case," he continued.
Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil claimed to have never received money from alleged corruption in the procurement of advertisements at Bank BJB or non-budget funds. All assets confiscated by the KPK were said to have been purchased using personal money, including Mercedes 280 SL belonging to the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia B. J. Habibie.
Non-budget funds are the difference in paying for the procurement of BJB Bank advertisements returned by the tender winning company. The management is called the KPK carried out by the corporate secretary (corsec) section.
"Well, because I don't know then everything that was once crowded was and a person. Personal funds themselves, so there was no connection with the case that was discussed. That's roughly the case," Ridwan Kamil told reporters at the location after undergoing an examination.
"All personal funds. That is the truth that I convey," he continued.
Previously reported, the KPK has named five suspects in connection with allegations of corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR).
