KKP Books Interest In Investment In Maritime And Fisheries Business Partnerships Of IDR 1.60 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) posted investment interests and marine and fisheries business partnerships worth IDR 1.60 trillion in Investment and Business Matching, which is a series of commemorations of National Fish Day (Harkannas).

"This value was revealed after one on one meeting involving domestic and foreign investors during the activity," said Acting (Plt) Director General of Day Strengthening Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) KKP Machmud in a written statement, Saturday, November 29.

Machmud explained, at the forum, the KKP offered 36 projects worth Rp3.02 trillion, including the development of the tuna, shrimp processing industry and cold chain logistics in Cilacap Regency.

Then, the construction of an industrial salt factory in Jeneponto Regency, the construction of a fishery processing facility and a cold chain logistics center by the Bolok 'NTT Industrial Estate as well as the construction of a nori-based seaweed processing plant in West Java.

"We facilitate business actors for one on one meeting and thank God they were caught in investment and partnership interests worth IDR 1.6 trillion, about 50 percent of the potential investment offered in the forum," he said.

He ensured that his party was preparing a number of flagship programs to realize President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita, especially in encouraging food self-sufficiency and national independence through the blue economy.

According to him, the blue economy policy is a pillar of the sustainable economy, both the sustainability of fishery resources and business sustainability.

After the activity, Machmud instructed his staff to provide assistance to business actors interested in investing to support the achievement of the marine and fishery investment target in 2025 of IDR 13.11 trillion.

"I also ask the ranks to coordinate with the regional government which is the destination of the investment plan," he explained.

Through this activity, Machmud hopes that the business agreement and investment realization of the marine and fisheries sector in Indonesia will have an impact on accelerating national economic growth according to the set target.

Moreover, he said, the government's commitment to providing ease of licensing, incentives, security and stability of the political climate, connectivity to skilled human resources as a workforce.

This is shown by the issuance of Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing signed by President Prabowo in the middle of this year.

"The government is committed to providing convenience, so we invite business actors to be part of the development of the marine and fisheries sector by investing in these programs," explained Machmud.

To note, Investment and Business Matching is part of a series of National Fish Day (Harkannas) which is celebrated every November 21.

The forum was officially opened by KKP Secretary General Rudy Herianto Adi Nugroho and attended by 351 participants offline and 1,395 participants online at Zoom Meeting, KKP YouTube channel and PDSPKP Directorate General.

Participants from abroad, including the Head of Mission/CDA of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, representatives of the Danish Embassy, the Solomon Islands Embassy, Taipei Economic and Trade Office, and potential investors from China.
