Startup Travel, Dynamics That Form Creativity And Innovation

JAKARTA - In the world of startups, travel is not always straight and smooth. The up and down dynamics has actually become a color that enriches the ecosystem. The 2025 BEKUP program, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with the KUMPUL, again presents an opportunity for startup founders to strengthen innovation and hone their skills through intensive assistance.

Faye Wongso, founder of KUMPUL, shared his views on this trip.

"We really appreciate the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for years fostering a startup ecosystem and the creative economy. So far, we have always worked with ecosystem players to understand the dynamics that go up and down, colorful, but it is diversity that makes Indonesia unique," Faye said, when met in the Cikini area, Jakarta on Friday, November 28, 2025.

"Therefore, we really appreciate partnerships, communications, and the desire to always explore. We can always discuss. BEKUP is not just an acceleration program. BEKUP is a mechanism to unite innovation, industrial needs, and data-based learning," he continued.

As an enabler ecosystem, KUMPUL is committed to ensuring that digital talents throughout Indonesia get equal opportunities.

"Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world. The challenges of logistics and access alone are already very large. We want to make sure regional children have the same opportunities as those in Java or Jakarta," said Faye.

According to Faye, focus on quality is more important than quantity in the mentoring process.

One startup has an intensive mentorship opportunity of up to 80 hours. When mentorship is intensive enough, the relationship that is built becomes longer. The Mentor turns out to have more attachment to the participants," said Faye.

On the government side, the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized the importance of the journey of these startups.

"I congratulate all the startups in this room. You have gone through a long series of trips since the open call, curation selection, intensive mentoring, until finally arriving at this Demo Day.

He emphasized the role of digital-based creativity in absorbing labor and encouraging innovation. Minister Riefky added his views on how to survive in uncertain times.

"The way to defend is not by playing it safe, but out of mediocre practice. Startups must dare to take on new markets, strengthen business models, build cross-sector partnerships, and create solutions that cannot be substituted." he added.

With a warm approach, focus on quality mentoring, and support from the government, the BEKUP Accelerate 2025 becomes more than just an acceleration program. These are communities, learning laboratories, and forums for digital talent to grow together, build creativity, and spread real positive impacts.
