Purbaya Surprised IMIP Airport Without Customs And Immigration Supervision

Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive admitted that he was surprised by the absence of Customs and Immigration officers at Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) Indonesia Airport.

Purbaya initially suspected that the airport had received special treatment from the relevant authorities and needed a thorough evaluation.

"I think there is a special treatment where they can go directly there. I don't understand why there is no Immigration with Customs and Excise. There may be a policy error there that must be corrected," he told the media crew, Thursday, November 27.

Purbaya emphasized that his party is ready to deploy Customs personnel to IMIP Airport if needed.

"Later, if we are ordered, we will put it from us, Customs and Excise officers, I am ready. For Immigration, we must be able to talk to Pak Silmy (deputy minister of Immigration and Corrections) and his ministers (Agus Andrianto)," he said.

Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto gave clear instructions to enforce rules without compromise regarding activities at Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) Indonesia Airport, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi.

According to Bahlil, President Prabowo emphasized that the state must not lose in dealing with alleged violations, including the issue of illegal mining activities linked to the area around the airport.

"The direction of the President to us, as the task force and as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, is to enforce the rules. Don't be indiscriminate, because the state must not lose to what is inappropriate or inappropriate," said Bahlil in a statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 26 evening.

Bahlil said that his party was still waiting for a complete report from the team regarding the alleged illegal mining activities around the area.

He also emphasized that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources only handles mining and nickel downstream recommendations, while securing airport objects and facilities is under the authority of other technical ministries.

Meanwhile, the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) led by the Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin had previously dispatched a team to conduct operational exercises at IMIP Airport.

Bahlil said he did not participate in these activities.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Transportation ensures that IMIP Airport in Fatufia Village, Bahodopi District, has official status and is registered with the government, following a polemic that says the airport operates without the presence of state authorities.

Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana stated that a number of personnel had been sent to the location to ensure all operational aspects were carried out according to the provisions.
