JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mathius Fakhiri suspects an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Lekagak Telenggen is trying to get out of Ilaga due to pressure from law enforcement activities conducted by Task Force Nemangkawi.
"There is a suspicion because of the pressure, KKB tried to get out of the area," said Insp. Gen. Fakhiri in Jayapura, as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 24.
However, to the area where KKB tried to get out, it could not be sure. According to the Police Chief, the nearest location and relatively easy to reach to Kuyawage or Balingga, Lanny Jaya Regency. The group can also go to Puncak Jaya Regency which is relatively closer.
It is also explained that Lekagak Telenggen group is a "guest" in Ilaga because the "territory owner" is Murib Military, while Lanny Jaya Regency is the Puron Wenda group.
