Landslides Tragedy In The Batahan Field, Residents Find Children 14 Years Of Lifeless

PASAMAN BARAT A child named Roki (14) died after being buried by a landslide in Jorong Muaro Mais, Nagari Batahan Tengah, Ranah Batahan District, Wednesday, November 26.

"It's true, the information we got was that there was a landslide in the area and resulted in a child being buried," said West Pasaman BPBD Chief Executive Jhon Edwar at Simpang Empat quoted from Antara.

According to Jhon, after receiving reports of buried residents, the surrounding community immediately conducted a manual search and was assisted by heavy equipment at the location.

Roki's body was found dead and then taken to the nearest health center before being handed over to the family.

He appealed to the public to avoid hilly, river, and coastal areas because the rainfall is still high and the local area is prone to disasters.

BPBD West Pasaman noted, of the 11 sub-districts available, 10 sub-districts were affected by natural disasters such as floods and landslides. The district government is currently continuing to distribute aid to affected residents.

"If there are residents trapped in the flood, the officers immediately evacuate to a safe place," he said.

In addition, the West Pasaman Regency Government has also established a public kitchen to meet the food needs of flood-affected residents. logistical assistance and health services were also provided.
