Anthrax Completes New Album Mixing Process, Ready To Earthquake Metalhead After A Decade
JAKARTA - Good news comes for the metalheads of Anthrax fans. The New York thrash metal band has officially completed the mixing process for their studio album that has been waiting for.
The upcoming album is their first release in a decade, following the success of For All Kings in 2016.
The mixing process, as well as several recording sessions, was held at Dave Grohl's 606 Studio located in Northridge, California.
For production matters, Anthrax again entrusted producer Jay Ruston, a figure who previously worked on their albums, including "For All Kings" (2016) and "Worship Music" (2011).
High enthusiasm for new works is not only for fans, but also for the Anthrax personnel. Frank Bello (bass) is proud and very happy because the mixing process has been completed, and now they can listen to the entire album material that has been completed.
"I think it's been almost ten years since the last Anthrax footage was crazy," Bello said in an interview with Thomann's Guitars & Basses, quoted by Blabbermouth, Tuesday, November 25.
"We are all very, very hungry, because we are in the mixing stage right now. Anthrax's new recording, I am proud to say, I am very happy, because it is already in the mixing process, and now we can hear the whole result," he continued.
Bello said hearing new songs really came to life after all the long processes and all the parts were locked.
"As a band fan, it feels like, 'cheat it, huh!' you become hungry and ready and you know you have the best work," he said.
Furthermore, Bello explained the songwriting process, mostly done by exchanging demonstrations digitally. Given the residence distance of Charlie Benante (drums) personnel in Chicago, Scott Ian (guitarist) in LA, and Bello in New York "the process is efficient.
After collecting the material that feels strong enough, then the three of them meet to complete it.
Regarding musical material, Bello promised something unique. "In this recording, there are things we've never done before. I said directly there are things, in a heavy way, which I'm very proud of," he said.

"I like that we chose that path with him and just said, 'What the hell is that?' Some of the things Charlie Benante does on drums, Scott and I just, 'What the hell is that?' And that's amazing, because you want to improve your game after that," added Bello.
Although the official release date is still a mystery, Bello provides certainty that fans will hear at least one new song before the end of 2025.
On the other hand, Benante also revealed that he had completed the album cover design with a conceptual artist Mark Stutzman.
With a full focus on the new album, 2026 has been designated as the year that Anthrax will concentrate specifically on tours to support the release of a new album ensure that their work really reaches fans around the world.
