Isyana, Tika Brahani To Maudy Koesnaedi Express Struggle In Monoplay Melati Pertiwi
JAKARTA - Monoplay Hero Melati Pertiwi: Moving on the Traces of the Nation's Official Travel History was held at the Jakarta Arts Building today, Tuesday, November 25. But behind the success of this performance, there is a story of the struggle of his players who are extraordinary.
Marcella Zalianty, as the initiator and actor Admiral Malahayati, revealed that the preparation for this show was very short. "You could say that this performance is a very short preparation, yes, super short," he said after the show, Tuesday, November 25.
The players even feel that the available training time is still lacking to finalize their performance. However, limited time and place demand that they continue to give their best.
Another challenge comes from the health conditions of the players. Tika Brahani, who plays Rasuna Said, had to fight the pain amid the tight schedule of training.
"I went back and forth to the hospital. Back and forth were infused, then that's how the children are sick, being treated, but I have to keep practicing," recalled Tika.
He said the biggest challenge for him was not to explore character or dialect, but to maintain physical health. This struggle is a reflection of the high dedication of the artists involved.
Despite being faced with various obstacles, the good energy and enthusiasm of the players were successfully conveyed to the audience. This show is proof that limitations can be overcome with enthusiasm and hard work.
In addition, one of the biggest physical challenges came from an uneven stage design. Maudy Koesnaedi, who plays Nyi Ageng Serang, admitted that she panicked when she first tried to sit down on the side stage.
"When I tried it, I should have argued on that stage, (it turned out) 'rotting'. I couldn't stay like that," said Maudy. This made him have to fight hard to find a stable position during the performance.

In addition to stage challenges, character research is the main key. Isyana Sarasvati, who plays SK Trimurti, is lucky to have a personal connection because her father once interviewed the hero directly.
"I had time to ask and what was it like, like I wanted to share the vibe like at that time," said Isyana. He also asked his Central Java-blooded mother to read the script to get the right accent.
Unlike Isyana, Hana Malasan faced difficulties due to the lack of information about Queen Kalinyamat. She had to rely on discussions with scriptwriters and play imagination to shape her character.
From conquering the stage that "flagged" to digging into the family archives, every actress has her own unique journey. It was their struggle in the creative process that made each character feel so alive and powerful.
