PT PGE Condensate Tank In Lhokseumawe Fire, BPBD Falls 2 Fleet 6 Personnel

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) deployed two fleets and six personnel to help extinguish the condensate storage tank owned by PT Pemap Global Energi (PGE) in Muara Satu District, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh.

"We received information on Tuesday (November 25) at 03.20 WIB to be able to assist PGE in extinguishing the condensate storage tank fire," said Head of Fire and Logistics Division of Lhokseumawe City BPBD Rudi Irawan when contacted in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, by Antara.

When receiving this information, his party immediately deployed two fleets and firefighters to help PGE team extinguish the fire in PGE's tank located at PT Perta Arun Gas (PAG) location.

He explained that personnel are currently still at the location to extinguish the fire with the company's fleet and personnel.

"The information conveyed by the personnel is that they are currently still putting out the fire and have used foam to speed up the blackout," he said.

He said the fire in PGE's condensate tank did not cause any casualties.

In the blackout of the condensate storage tank, he said, there were eight fleets deployed, namely from the Lhokseumawe City BPBD two units, the North Aceh BPBD three units, PT PIM 1 unit, and PAG two units.

"Currently we do not know the source of the fire and the team is focusing on the extinguishing process," he said.

Until this news was revealed there has been no official statement from PGE regarding the cause of the fire and the amount of losses due to the disaster.
