One Of The Four Smartphones Sold In China Is An IPhone
Apple has finally reversed the trend of declining its long-term sales in China. According to a recent Counterpoint Research report, demand for the iPhone 17 series jumped sharply in October 2025, providing Apple with a market share that is again strengthening in the world's largest smartphone market.
After years of decline and tight competition with local manufacturers, iPhone sales in October 2025 recorded a 37% increase compared to October 2024. This spike was mainly driven by high demand for the three main models of the iPhone 17.
Counterpoint noted that the three iPhone 17 models recorded double-digit growth to close to high numbers, signaling very positive market acceptance.

The report excludes the iPhone Air because the model only arrived in China in mid-October 2025, so it could not be compared directly to the previous year.
However, of the three main models already available:
iPhone 17 (the basic model) is the most purchased.
The three iPhone 17 models contributed more than 80% of Apple's total iPhone sales in China.
Counterpoint also mentioned that demand shows no signs of weakening. Sales in November are expected to remain strong, while December 2025 is predicted to set a new record for Apple.
Not only Apple enjoys an increase in sales. China's local producers helped overall market growth:
Oppo mencatat kenaikan 19% YoY, mendorong pasar smartphone China tumbuh 8% secara keseluruhan.
This positive trend is not too surprising if you look at previous consumer interest. China's delayed iPhone Air immediately sold out in a matter of minutes when pre-orders opened. Likewise with the iPhone 17 series which recorded the best pre-order in Apple's history in September 2025.
With such a strong performance, Apple seems to have re-established its position as a major player in China's premium smartphone market.
