Samsung Internet Browser Comes With New Design At One UI 8.5
JAKARTA - Samsung is preparing to present a large visual and functional update for its built-in browser, the Samsung Internet, which is expected to launch in conjunction with the One UI 8.5 update.
The latest leak shows that Samsung wants to provide a smoother, more modern, and customizable browsing experience, while improving security for Galaxy device users.
The latest information from tipster @GalaxyTechie and @thatjoshguy69 reveals the most striking changes to the Samsung Internet interface. Address bars now appear with more elegant blur effects, and will disappear automatically when users scroll, providing wider screen space for content.
Samsung also divided the address bar into two parts:
The main part for the URL and Home icon
Short sections for shortcut buttons like Tabs and Options
Users will be able to select multiple address bar styles: Compact, Standard, or placement at the bottom.

Update also brings big changes to the display and management of the tab. The tab grid now resembles the album display in the Gallery application, so it feels more familiar to Galaxy users (via Sammu Guru). Users can choose the display:

All come with a semi-transparent modern design. Samsung also adds a pop-up menu when users close the browser, allowing the Samsung Internet Browser to come with a New Design at One UI 8.5 quickly.
In addition to the display, Samsung presents a number of important functional improvements:
AI Search Option found in the default menu allows users to take advantage of external AI services such as Google Gemini or Perplexity directly from the browser.
This update also deals with annoying pop-up issues that are 'locked' in certain positions, providing a cleaner and more intrusion-free browsing experience.
Features such as Secret Mode and synced tabs are now more accessible with just one tap from the main tab menu.
This large Samsung Internet design is expected to debut with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. After that, the One UI 8.5 update will be rolled out to the eligible Galaxy device.
With this update, the Samsung Internet seems to be increasingly ready to compete as a fast, secure, and flexible mobile browser for Galaxy device users around the world
