Vivo Secretly Confirms S50 Series Launch In December 2025

Vivo has secretly confirmed that the Vivo S50 series will be launched in China in December 2025. Without a major announcement, the company broadcasts pre-order pages on its official website, signaling that this latest phone is coming soon.

Through this page, users in China can register early, even have the opportunity to win prizes such as Vivo S50, a 500 yuan travel card, a mysterious gift, or Vivo points.

The S50 series is said to consist of two models: Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini. As the name implies, Pro Mini will be a more compact variant with a 1.5K resolution 6.31-inch OLED screen and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both devices were confirmed using LPDDR5x 9600Mbps RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, making it one of the S series with the fastest memory specifications so far.

A Vivo official also provided a teaser that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset will be present on one of the devices in this lineup, most likely on the S50 Pro Mini. In addition, rumors mention the presence of an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor as well as a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens capable of providing more stable and clear optical zoom.

For the regular model, the Vivo S50 is estimated to carry a slightly larger OLED display, which is 6.59 inches with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Although several reports mention the possible use of the Snapdragon 8 series chipset, initial leaks show standard S50 can rely on Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Both models are also expected to come with three camera configurations, including periscope telephoto lenses, as well as 90W fast charging support.

There is also speculation that the global Vivo V70 will be based on the S50 series, but the latest Geekbench testing shows the use of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset on the global V70. This indicates that the international version is likely to have different specifications from the models launched in China.

With pre-orders already opened and official launches in just a matter of weeks, the Vivo S50 series is predicted to be one of the most eye-catching phone lines by the end of this year.
