Conquering 5 Days On The Road, Longest Bus Route Crossing 30 Cities

JAKARTA - Crossing a continent on a bus may sound like a big challenge, but the Transoceanian bus route makes it a truly real extreme experience.

Reporting from the Mirror.co.uk page, this trip traveled about 3,900 miles or more than 6,300 kilometers connecting Lima in Perudan Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. This makes it the longest direct bus journey in the world.

This route passes through 30 cities from the coastal areas of Peru, the Andes Mountains to the vast interior of Brazil. For some people, this relentless five-day journey is a symbol of true adventure. For others, this can be a mental and physical test.

Transocese BusES are often described as a hard or brutal journey. One of the passengers who tried to say, 'No one really prepares you for five days on a bus that never stops moving.'

Although Peru and Brazil are famous for their natural beauty, the route taken by this bus does not always display the best view. Many travelers admit that they often see barren areas or small towns that seem gloomy along the way.

This travel ticket is valued at around 1,300 Brazilian reals or IDR 4 million and the operator claims that a 'semi-sleeper' type bus with comfortable seats. Facilities such as Wi-Fi, drinking water, USB ports, and toilets are also provided. However, some passengers do not feel the same comfort.

YouTuber Noel Philips, who documents his journey, calls his experience very tiring.

This is the longest five days of my life. There is no private space and everyone is turning their phones without headphones. Imagine 15 phones loud at the same time," he explained.

Philips admits parts of Peru offer stunning views, but after entering Brazil, the atmosphere became so monotonous.

"Once it crosses the border, it feels like seeing the same thing over and over again," he said.

In addition, travel also often faces obstacles such as road repairs, slow trucks, and cold weather in the mountains. While the bus does not have adequate heating.

Not all experiences are hard. A Brazilian traveler tells of such a long journey, the passengers spend a lot of time chatting.

"In the middle of Andes, we debate about who has the best Cevich recipe. Long trips make people more easily open," he said.

Small excitement like this helps at least distract from the length of the trip. Interestingly, even though this route is very popular among adventurers, Transoceanica buses don't operate throughout the year.

The operator, Trans Acreana, has not released an official schedule for the remainder of the year or the following year. So this extreme journey is arguably more of a rare experience than a regular mode of transportation.

For some people, the five-day journey across a continent by bus sounds like a nightmare. But for adventure seekers, this journey is an opportunity to experience firsthand the cultural, geographical, and human diversity that meets the Lima route, Rio de Janeiro.

As one of the passengers said, "We may not get the best view, but this journey is about the resilience, the story, and the people you meet."
