BPJS Kesehatan Affirms Whitening Arrears Only Once And Especially For The Poor
JAKARTA - President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti emphasized that the plan to abolish or bleach BPJS Health dues was only applied once and specifically for the poor. He requested that this policy not be misinterpreted as a removal for all participants.
"Don't let it be understood otherwise. People who can afford don't wait to be in arrears and don't pay," said Ghufron in a meeting with Commission IX of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Thursday, November 13.
Ghufron explained that the bleaching of arrears was only given to participants who were included in the lower economic group based on the National Sole Social and Economic Data (DTSEN), precisely the community in deciles 1 to 5.
"This is for deciles 1 to 5. They must be recorded in DTSEN. The government will set a policy, BPJS is ready to carry out technical activities in the field," he said.
He emphasized that participants who have financial capacity must still pay their dues. "If you can afford it, don't wait. This is just once," said Ghufron.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BPJS Kesehatan Abdul Kadir added that BPJS has prepared anticipatory recommendations regarding this policy, including strengthening socialization so that the bleaching mechanism is not misunderstood. He reminded participants who get the arrears removed must return to pay dues regularly.
