Police Confiscate 8,500 Vape Packages Containing Hard Drugs From Malaysia Network

JAKARTA - The vape distribution network contains a hard drug type ethodidate with an economic value of Rp. 42.5 billion, revealed by the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Police.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) Police Chief Kombes Ronald Sipayung said that four suspects had been arrested. Three of the four suspects are Malaysian citizens (WN), the other is Indonesian citizens.

"They are ASW, KH and CW, all three are foreign nationals from Malaysia and SY is an Indonesian citizen," said Kombes Ronald during a press conference, Wednesday, November 12.

Ronald menyampaikan, keempat pelaku diamankan di wilayah Tangerang dan Jakarta Pusat dengan barang bukti sebanyak 8,500 paket vape berisi cairan etomodate.

Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Kasat Resnarkoba) of Soetta Airport Police, AKP Michael Tandayu explained that the disclosure of this case began with public reports.

"From the results of the development, it is known that the network is controlled by a person with the initials B (DPO) in Malaysia," he said.

With the disclosure of this case, his party managed to save around 34 thousand people from potential drug abuse.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 435 subsidiary Article 436 paragraph (2) of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code. They face a maximum imprisonment of five years or a fine of up to IDR 500 million.
