Two Women Arrested In Smuggling Methamphetamine Into Logging In Cipinang Prison

JAKARTA - Two women were arrested by officers at the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Cipinang, East Jakarta, Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The two perpetrators are known to have the initials DTU and S, prison visitors when they want to visit prisoners. The two did not know each other. They were arrested on the same day, but were vulnerable in different times.

The modus operandi of the perpetrators in smuggling drugs is the same, namely hiding methamphetamine in sanitary napkins.

The first incident was revealed when officers suspected the movements of one of the visitors who wanted to visit the inmates.

After a body search was carried out by female officers, two packs containing white crystalline powder were found suspected of being methamphetamine drugs hidden in sanitary napkins.

From the weighing results, the total evidence reached 9.2 grams.

Not long after, officers again found a similar mode of other female visitors. During the examination, officers again found two packs of crystal methamphetamine in sanitary napkins with a total weight of 23.5 grams.

Head of the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Syarpani, said that his party would not provide the slightest space for drug trafficking in prisons.

"We will continue to tighten the inspection, both for visitors and their luggage. Prisons must be places of development, not places of drug trafficking," he said when confirmed.

Furthermore, all evidence and the two visitors have been handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police for further legal proceedings.

This incident became the seventh case throughout 2025 which was successfully thwarted by the ranks of the Jakarta Narcotics Prison.
