"He is utilizing his status that he corals to look for results", said Deputy Chief of Police of South Jakarta, AKBP Antonius Agus Rahmanto, quoted Antara, Friday, May 21.

Police arrested the perpetrator Resturio Rerlexander on Tuesday, May 11 at around 4 p.m. at one of the companies in Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

In addition to claiming to be a police officer, he continued, the 28-year-old man also claimed to be a member of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

He was arrested after receiving reports from the public about the perpetrators who came from Depok, West Java, often claiming to be members of the National Police and BIN and offering escort services in taking money.

To reassure the target, he continued, the former "programmer" who is now unemployed carries a distinctive identity or emblem or police badge with the label "expert staff" from the Directorate of Special Crimes at National Police Headquarters and BIN.

From the perpetrator's temporary confession, he has only once acted with the cost of escort pegged at IDR 5 million.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Criminal Police, AKBP Jimmy Christian Samma, said it would investigate the case including the victims.

"The confession in question is only one time but we are still investigating whether there are other victims", he said.

The perpetrator in carrying out his actions is also alone but police are still investigating the involvement of others.

Meanwhile, Resturio admitted to committing the crime after receiving termination of employment or layoffs by one of the companies in Tangerang.

The man also claimed to aspire to be a member of the National Police but failed the test in 2013.

"I got a reduction in employees of private companies in Tangerang area", he said.

The police ensnared the perpetrators with an Emergency Law related to the possession of firearms and article 378 of the Criminal Code for confessing to members of the National Police with the threat of a sentence of 20 years in prison.
