Foreign Minister Sugiono Says Indonesia Is Ready To Meet The Needs Of The Most Performed Workers In Croatia
JAKARTA - Indonesia's diplomatic relations with Croatia re-entered history, when the foreign ministers of the two countries held talks on increasing trade cooperation to providing skilled workers at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Monday.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono said his partial visit, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman, was an important milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries that had existed since 1992.
Foreign Minister Radman's visit was the visit of the two Foreign Minister-level officials from Croatia to Indonesia, since the Balkan country opened its Embassy in Jakarta in 1995.
Saying that the talks of the two main diplomats were productive and warm, Foreign Minister Sugiono revealed that they discussed a number of strategic issues ranging from increasing trade, investment, education, energy security, agriculture and food, to people-to-people contacts.
"We are committed to facilitating each other to increase trade and investment," said Foreign Minister Sugiono, Monday, November 10.
Foreign Minister Sugiono further said Indonesia's readiness to send skilled workers to meet Croatia's needs.
"In the western European region, especially the Balkan area, there is a need for skilled workers in the fields of construction, hospitality and caregivers. They have these needs and have several times conveyed labor prefers from Indonesia," he explained.
"Because culturally there are not too many differences, many things are similar, the responsibility is good. The only problem for us is language," continued the Indonesian Foreign Minister.
"Therefore, we want a comprehensive approach to send skilled workers, equipped with the skills needed and equipped with good language skills, that's what we want to do," he said.

Regarding this, the Indonesian Foreign Minister said that he had coordinated with several ministries to support the plan, so that Indonesia could meet the needs of workers abroad with skilled workers.
Foreign Minister Sugiono added that Foreign Minister Radman's visit is believed to be able to improve bilateral relations between the two countries much closer and better, gun working together to face regional and global challenges.
