Witness To The Incident Of SMAN 72 Jakarta Reveals There Were 3 Explosions In Different Locations

JAKARTA - ZA, an eye witness to the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, revealed that he heard 3 explosions in the school area.

The class XI student also said that the position of the first explosion occurred in the mosque area. The second explosion was in the canteen and the third was in the seat while students were resting.

"But the time lag is different, it's a big (big) one at the musalah. Then the second one is between the canteens, otherwise the rest areas," said ZA, Monday, November 10, 2025.

At the time of the incident, ZA said, he had joked with his colleagues outside the mosque.

"Well, when I was ablution, I wanted to enter (mosque), but it looked really crowded. It was me on the terrace. The explosion was right when the last sermon wanted to pray. Now it was a prayer, suddenly there was a 'duuaar' (sound of explosion)," he recalled.

ZA admitted that the explosion occurred at the center of the mosque area.

"From the middle point, the pillar," he said.

Then followed by the sound of another explosion at another point.

"That position was immediately destroyed, it was broken. There was really big smoke. There was a lot of smoke, a lot of fire," he said.

As previously reported, as many as 13 patients who were victims of the SMAN 72 Jakarta explosion were still undergoing intensive treatment at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital (RSIJ), Central Jakarta on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Director of RSIJ Cempaka Putih, Dr. Pradono Handojo said, there were 13 patients being treated.

"One patient is being treated at HCU and one patient is in the ICU and 11 patients are being treated inpatients," he said, Sunday afternoon.
