Pertamina Blocks 3,500 Vehicle Nopols Misappropriating Pertalite And Solar Subsidies In West Sumatra

PadanG - Pertamina Patra Niaga Region of North Sumatra (Sumbagut) has blocked 3,500 police numbers (nopol) of vehicles in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) since early 2025 because it is indicated that they are misappropriating subsidized fuel oil (BBM) types of Pertalite and Solar.

"The blocking was carried out based on the results of digital monitoring showing abnormal transaction activity at a number of gas stations," said Sales Area Manager (SAM) Retail West Sumatra Pertamina Patra Niaga Fakhri Rizal Hasibuan as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, November 9.

Fakhri said the blocking was carried out through the MyPertamina digitization system as an effort to ensure that energy subsidies were right on target for eligible communities.

In addition, Pertamina has also given warning letters, sanctions and guidance to 54 gas stations in the West Sumatra region throughout 2025 which have been proven to have committed violations in the distribution of fuel.

This, he said, was done as a form of enforcing the rules and part of Pertamina's supervisory efforts related to the distribution of subsidized fuel so that it was more targeted.

Regarding the sanctions given, he said, the types varied according to the level of violations found ranging from reprimands, warning letters to temporary fuel supply cessation.

"This step was taken to ensure that all distribution agencies carry out operations in a transparent, orderly manner and in accordance with the provisions," he said.

Pertamina, continued Fakhri, found indications of inappropriate or inappropriate distribution based on the system, both on volume scale and based on transactions.

"So based on monitoring our digitalization system, one of them is that the transactions are repeated and every day," he said.

Meanwhile, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from West Sumatra Andre Rosiade welcomed Pertamina's firm steps towards 3,500 vehicles that were proven to be misappropriating subsidized fuel including gas stations.

"The control of gas stations and the blocking of thousands of vehicles using subsidized abuse is a firm step that should be supported for the sake of energy justice for the community," said Andre.
