The National Police Chief Said 87 Containers Allegedly Violated The Export Of CPO Derivative Products Worth IDR 2.8 Trillion
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the Special Task Force (Satgassus) Optimizing State Revenue (OPN) assisted by the police and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise succeeded in uncovering allegations of export violations of palm oil derivative products, crude palm oil (CPO). From the results of the operation, 87 containers were secured.
Listyo explained that this case stems from the findings of a significant increase in the export of fatty meter commodities belonging to one of the companies with the initials PT MSS. According to him, the spike reached almost 278 percent compared to previous years.
"In-depth activities were carried out with the mirroring system of the Task Force's analysis of PT MSS related to the extraordinary surge in the export of fatty meter commodities compared to previous years, up almost 278 percent," said Listyo, at the NPCT MTI Buffer Area, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Thursday 6 November.
He revealed that the results of examinations at three different laboratories, namely Customs, one university, and an integrated laboratory, showed that the commodity content did not match the category entitled to tax-free compensation.
"From the results of the examination, it turns out that the contents in it contain most of the derivative products of palm oil. So like it or not, we will follow up with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for further investigation," said Sigit.
According to Sigit, the mode used is to disguise the derivative product of CPO as if it were a fatty meter, which by the government is not subject to export duties or levies. That way, the company is suspected of trying to avoid tax obligations.

"It turns out, this gap is then used to smuggle, to avoid taxes which of course result in state losses," he said.
From the results of the investigation, the value of the export transaction of the fatty meter commodity was recorded at around Rp. 2.8 trillion. The National Police together with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise will deepen a number of other companies suspected of using similar modes.
"Until now, only one heavy meter commodity has been recorded, the transaction value has reached 2.8 trillion rupiahs, if I'm not mistaken, and we will continue to develop this," he said.
"Of course we can save the potential state losses from leaks due to tax evasion and this is of course in line with the expectations of the President," he continued.
Furthermore, General Listyo explained that the establishment of the OPN Task Force was a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's direction to optimize state revenues and reduce potential leaks.
"Alhamdulillah, in accordance with the direction and orders of Mr. President Prabowo Subianto regarding efforts to reduce the potential for state leakage, the National Police formed a Task Force for Optimizing State Revenue (OPN)," said Sigit.
Therefore, he also appreciated the work of the OPN Task Force, which was commanded by Brigadier General Hermawan Yulianto and Kombes Novel, because they managed to find early indications of the tax evasion practice.
"We must jointly supervise, discipline, and if necessary law enforcement so that state leakage can be minimized. The President hopes that state revenues will be optimal and can be used for the development and welfare of the people," he concluded.
