Judge Opens Possible Offline Session For Ammar Zoni After Sela Decision Stage
JAKARTA Actor Ammar Zoni again asked the panel of judges for the trial of his narcotics case to be held face-to-face (offline). This application was submitted for the second time.
Ammar reasoned that the online trial had cut off access to important communication between himself and the legal advisory team, which had an impact on hampering the preparation of defense.
"We once again hope that we still hope to be presented offline during the trial, Your Honor," said Ammar Zoni via video connection at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, November 6.
Ammar assessed that offline trials would facilitate direct communication with their lawyers, so that the defense could be prepared more effectively.
"If it can go offline, maybe we will be closer to being able to connect and communicate," he explained.
"Because the most important thing right now is communication, Your Majesty. Permission, I ask once again to be offline with this exception," he added.
The request received a positive response from the panel of judges. Although not immediately granted, the judge opened up the possibility that the trial would be held offline if the case continued to the evidentiary stage.

"We didn't rule out the possibility for an offline trial, did we," said the presiding judge.
The judge explained that Ammar's request would be discussed further with other members of the panel of judges who are currently on leave.
"Later, after the interlocutory decision, during the proof, if necessary, the panel of judges will issue a determination for the offline trial," he promised.
For the time being, the judge requested that the exception reading process continue. However, the trial was finally postponed because Ammar stated that it was not ready due to limited communication with his legal adviser.
