OpenAI Jalin Deal Of IDR 635 Trillion With Amazon Web Services

JAKARTA OpenAI announced the latest big deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This agreement in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is worth 38 billion US dollars or around Rp. 635 trillion.

Launching from The Verge, this agreement will last for seven years. The ChatGPT developer will gain access to hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs for the purpose of training his AI model.

Although it was not disclosed when this collaboration was established, OpenAI will start using the AWS cloud to train its newest AI model in the near future. The entire cloud capacity of AWS is targeted to be used before the end of 2026.

This step is considered in line with OpenAI's restructuring which was just completed last week. OpenAI's restructuring allows the company to cooperate with third parties in developing some of their products.

This deal comes as Microsoft begins to loosen its grip as an exclusive cloud provider for OpenAI. Microsoft also lost its first refusal right to host AI's workload at OpenAI.

Although OpenAI is focusing on its latest deal with Amazon, OpenAI's partnership with Microsoft remains much larger. The company has a contract worth USD 250 billion (IDR 4.180 trillion) to purchase Microsoft's Azure service.

In addition, OpenAI is also reported to have a cloud contract worth US$300 billion (Rp5,016 trillion) with Oracle. On the other hand, Amazon is focusing on collaborating with competitors from Anthropic by spending billions of dollars.
